Ground Maroons, Fuel Lifters and Arena Smoke Puffs

Ground Maroons are in the same vein as Stage Maroons. However they really are in a league of their own and a great deal more powerful than their much smaller cousins. Ground Maroons require no further containment, as a point of fact, to contain them could be extremely dangerous due to their power.

Note:  Do not be mislead by the name 'Ground' Maroon as this is a historic term which simply differentiated them from Aerial Maroons i.e. Salute style rockets. Ideally Ground Maroons should never be fired on the ground, but instead they should be safely elevated on a thin stick or hanging line.

If you are unsure about using Ground Maroons ALWAYS contact Wells for more advice - we are very happy to help and want you to be safe AND to get the most from these products.

Ground Maroons are normally used to produce a loud bang. Basically put, the larger the unit, then the stronger the effect will be. Wells offers a range of sizes of Ground Maroons and can load special loads up to our 300g limit. We can even include an added Sparkle if required.

In the same vein as Ground Maroons, Wells offers a range of Fuel Lifters & Arena Smoke Puffs. Whilst not as loud as a dedicated Ground Maroon for pure power and noise, the lifters/smoke puffs are far better designed to lift fuel or debris for spectacular effects. Wells offers both a Blackpowder based version and a metal/oxidant version.

The Blackpowder version of our Fuel Lifter is great for traditional fuel lifts or if you have debris you want to through up without spreading it too wide and far. The metal/oxidant or 'Hotter' version is better equipped to lift dry or powdered fuels being more locally violent to really spread the fuel in the air.

Both the Blackpowder and Hotter version can of course be used 'as is' to give a large smoke puff, with the Hotter version also packing quite a bang and a flash.

For ease of selection, we have split these products Data Sheets into their respective CE grouping:

Need an alternative to Ground Maroons?

Stage Maroons, although substantially smaller, still pack plenty of bang for their buck. With care they can also be used to lift materials or to 'explode' props. Our special, made to order, coloured versions have even been used in Films as Bullet Hits. The use of colours gives the CGI techs an anchor which they can then enlarge and exaggerate.

As a point of fact, using Ground Maroons to lift or 'explode' props could be extremely dangerous due to their power.

If you are unsure about using Ground Maroons or any of Wells' bigger Arena effects, then ALWAYS contact Wells for more advice - we are very happy to help and want you to be safe AND to get the most from these products.
